Discovering Bradford

Bradford is a cathedral city. It has a broad industrial base ranging from the traditional wool and engineering industries to service electronics. The population is drawn from a wide diversity of ethnic groups whose contributions to the life of the city are celebrated in an annual festival.

Housing - There is a varied choice of accommodation whether your taste is for a city centre flat, modem bungalow or rural cottage. House prices continue to stay below the national average so you will be surprised at what your money will buy!

Education - Full state comprehensive education is available through the system of first, middle and upper schools. Bradford also has a successful City Technology College and a range of independent schools for boys and girls. The university has one of the oldest and most progressive Business schools and the Bradford & Ilkley Community College offers a vast range of courses for all interests and abilities.

Entertainment - There is a wide range of cultural activities to suit everyone. Live theatre at the Alhambra, concerts at the St. George's Hall and the renowned National Museum of Photography, Film & Television. There are numerous clubs and bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes.

Sport - The city boasts a number of excellent sports centres and related facilities. There is a city centre icerink and we are home to Bradford City Football Team, and Keighlev and Bradford Bulls Rugby League Teams.

The Bradford metropolitan area is adjacent to Haworth and "Bronteland" and the Yorkshire Dales are less than an hours drive away. Travel to the rest of the country is easy from the city's M606 route to the M62 and Ml motorways. There is also easy access to Leeds / Bradford Airport.
