My main clinical interest is the treatment of patients with
cleft lip and palate. My Masters thesis was on the growth of the
mandible in patients with unilateral,complete clefts.I have spent
time in several European cleft centres including one month in
units in Finland. Another interest has been in Orthodontic education
and I was considerably involved in the "Sunderland
Scheme" for Orthodontic training in conjunction with the
late Mr.D.A.Dixon. Since my appointment at Bradford, I have run
regular postgraduate courses for dental practitioners and am a
tutor in a program of training in basic fixed appliance therapy
for practitioners run jointly by Hull, York and Bradford hospitals.
Administrative commitments: Chairperson, Yorkshire Orthodontic Regional Audit Group. Regional Audit representative to the C.O.G. National Orthodontic Audit Group. Bradford Hospitals Outpatients Management Committee. Committee member - Sheffield Orthodontic Study Circle.
Outside my professional work, my main interests are horticulture
and natural history, I am also a member of Bradford Diocesan Synod.
